Reviewing and Ranking Every Disneytoon Sequel (Part 1)
So, let’s establish something right out the gate: I know full well I am not the first person to do this. Pretty much everyone on the internet has talked about the straight to video and DVD sequels Disney churned out in the 90s and 2000s to make a quick buck. But the current siege of Disney’s live-action remakes had made me want to do this as a form of cleansing. The Disney Remake era is basically what replaced the Disney Sequel era. A new trendy fad that was an easy money maker for Disney. And there is some debate on which is better, or rather, worse. It’s probably just my nostalgia talking as a 2000s kid born during this era’s peak, but I have a bit of a soft spot for the Disney direct-to-video era of films. Not saying it was perfect, and yes, it was obviously done just to make easy money and not because there was any real desire or demand for there to be sequels to any of these Disney Classics, but I feel like a lot of the visceral hate for it mainly came from early internet fan cult...
